The Lauren Danley Scholarship
We are proud to announce the creation of the Lauren Danley Scholarship, a new opportunity supporting LGBTQ+ students in Wyoming who are pursuing higher education and creating change in their communities.
Lauren Danley lived a life defined by authenticity, courage, and service. After more than 50 years living as someone she wasn’t, Lauren finally became whole in 2003 — the day she describes as “the day I walked on air.” A 20-year military veteran, loving parent, and long-time advocate, Lauren spent years serving on the board of Wyoming Equality and helping others find strength in living openly.
Her story reminds us that it’s never too late to be yourself — and that when we lift one another up, we make Wyoming a place where everyone can thrive.
The Lauren Danley Scholarship honors that legacy by helping LGBTQ+ young people afford their education or training — whether they choose to stay in Wyoming or pursue their dreams beyond it.
