It’s been a long winter, and we aren’t quite finished with it yet. Here’s hoping the rest of the winter is not as cold and snowy as the first part was. Hi everyone, it’s Ken, board chair at WE. While I was ruminating about the weather, because its darn cold, we missed our deadline for this current issue of the newsletter. I can honestly say it was no ones fault but a scheduling error on the part of the board, and I was part of that. We will have the next one out on time, but before then, enjoy this issue.Read More
Welcome to Our New Chair!
Hello everyone in the reach of this newsletter. My name is Kenneth Ingram, and I am a pastor at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in Laramie. I have been in Laramie about 2.5 years, but have been supporting Wyoming Equality for over 15 years. My partner, Don, and I have been together for 25 years, and we have been attending Rendezvous for almost every year since 2005. We did miss a few years when we lived in Texas.Read More
Members, friends and allies,
We hope your summer is off to a great start. June was a great month, with all the Pride events across the state. I couldn’t go to all of them, but the events I did attend were fantastic. I sure hope you had an opportunity to attend one or more events because it’s always good to connect with your community, friends, and familyRead More
Happy Pride Month!
We have a lot to feel proud about in Wyoming. Everyday the LGBTQ community rises up, we greet our neighbors, go to our work where most of us lack basic protections, kiss our babies if we have them, bring each other meals when we’re sick, go to schools where we are likely to be bullied and through it all we maintain our connection to each other, our connection to the families that accept us, our connection to the communities that we call home. There is so much there to be proud of. This June, all across Wyoming we will be hosting Pride picnics, dances, drag shows, even a church service or two.Read More
Members, friends and allies, It has been a busy three months since our last newsletter. We have been working hard to make Wyoming Equality’s board more representative of all Wyoming regions. To facilitate this goal, we have purchased and implemented some new technology in our boardroom. We now have a zoom video-conference system. I have run a few board meetings in Cheyenne from my home in Laramie and have to say the system works great. In addition, our CRM and bookkeeping programs are in the cloud and accessible from anywhere with an Internet connection. We are excited to be a truly telecommute non-profit. With this, we have changed our bylaws to expand our board across the state of Wyoming. Our bylaws now require at least one member of the Board of Directors from each of the following regions, based on Wyoming’s 23 counties:Read More
