On February 13th, we’re bringing unprecedented numbers to the Capitol to stand for LGBTQ rights in Wyoming.
We’ve picked the day before Valentines Day to remind lawmakers that we’re a movement grounded in love for our community, the love we have for each other, and the great stat of Wyoming.
Many of Us Are Frustrated.
You’re not alone in feeling fed up with the feds. But what can you do about it, right?
After all, you’re just one person.
Our lawmakers act as if there is no political cost to anit-LGBTQ legislation. They aren’t being confronted with visible opposition.
They claim they are representing “Wyoming values” without being confronted by the people who actually have Wyoming values.
It’s easy to forget, but…
you’re not alone. Many of us are overwhlemed.
Many of us oppose their BIG government takeover of our lives and right. Many of us love our neighbors, our communities, our state.
You Can Make Our Opposition Visible & Undeniable.
You can stand shoulder-to-shoulder with us at the Capitol on Equality Day.
On Feb. 13th, you can make our opposition visible & undeniable where decision are made.
We’ll be showing up in unprecedented numbers. it will be impossible for lawmakers to ignore how many Wyomingites stand for the right to exist in libraries, doctor’s offices, our communities, and our homes.
Without you, we can’t hit our goal of 250 people. We’ve never shown up with this many before.
You can make history.
We’ve Made It Easy For You
We know some things can get in the way of showing up for these events. Here is how we can help.
If you’re coming in from out of town, we can:
Hook you up with our hotel block rate at the Red Lion. They’ve given you a nightly rate of $X.
In the 60’s civil rights activists would host busses of people who were showing up to make change for their communities churches. Now it’s our turn. We’ve partnered with local churches to host you. It’s not fancy, but it’s free. You’ll need to bring a sleeping bag and pad or a blow up mattress.
Need some cash for gas. Let us know. We’d be happy to fill your tank.
We’ll be hosting a potluck dinner the night before at the church where we’re putting people up. We’ll provide a grab & go breakfast and lunch on the 13th.
Two More Ways To Help
Spread the word: Host a Valentine’s Day Party between now and January. Sign people up to come with you to Equality Day. And write Valentine’s Day cards to lawmaker’s to remind them that we love our neighbors enough to defend their rights.
Donate to Make the Event Possible: Those ways to help we listed above cost money. Your donation will go to filling up gas tanks, providing food, and helping others stand with us on Equality Day in unprecedented numbers.
